I didn't find many examples of my trend in the January issue of Vogue. There were several photos of black and white outfits, but as I was only looking for dresses, I only found one photo. I'm not discouraged about the evolution of my trend through this season though. I feel like it still has plenty of time to pick up pace and become more popular. Below is the Marc Jacobs advertisement from the January issue of Vogue.
February:

I found the contrasting trend 9 times in the February issue of Vogue between the ads and the editorials. I think that this trend is really starting to pick up momentum, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this trend will go in next month's Vogue. These are some of the examples of the contrasting dresses that I found in the February issue. The first is a Givenchy advertisement followed by two Moschino ads. The last two photos are part of an editorial called Storm Troupers highlighting the Hurricane Sandy responders.

This month, once again, I found so many examples of the contrasting trend in practically every garment of clothing or accessory imaginable, but not many of them were dresses. I really did expect to find more of the trend in the March issue simply because it's over 600 pages long, but I think that this trend is more popular than my counts portray, simply because my counts are limited to only dresses. Overall, I think that this trend is still gaining momentum, I mean, it's even on the cover of Vogue this month, so I'm not worried about it declining at this point. Here are some of the ads and editorial photos that I counted in the March issue of Vogue. The first is a Tibi ad, followed by an ad for Barneys, and finally two photos from an editorial entitled Retro Remix.
April:

I was excited this month to finally see more of the contrasting trend in the editorials because they tend to spark my interest more than the advertisements do. A lot of people tend to mindlessly flip through the ads at the beginning of the magazine without a second thought, so even if the trend is there, it may not have as much of an effect as it does in the editorials. This month's Vogue featured a huge spread entitled Smooth Sailing dedicated solely to the graphic black and white trend. I found another editorial entitled Window Dressing that showed the trend as well. Here are some of the photos.
May:

The May issue of Vogue brought the return of very few photos of the black and white contrasting trend, although there were still more in the editorials than in the advertisements. I think as we move into the warmer months of summer this trend will die down a bit, though I don't see it ever disappearing completely. This could be an explanation for why my counts for the trend were so low in May. Here are some of the images I counted in May.
